Turns out he's the fucking man. Had the pleasure of seeing him and A Guy Called Gerald on Friday night at a small venue in Leeds with a tasty Funktion 1. Fulton beasted out a quality set of twisted disco and dirty deepness, and if that floats your boat, I urge you to listen to some. Recorded mixes are quite hard to find, here are a couple:
Quick pointer towards some goodness; just found this site via a slabs mix I was listening to. London based crew with an impressive array of guest mixes and podcasts.
Check em out, according to them they're "refreshingly amateurish," and if you ask me, a Good Thing.
Everybody loves The Orbit. Here’s some sets you may have seen, and some you missed cos you were 14. How good was the Orbit in 1992 by the way? Jesus.
Most of these I uploaded to mediafire myself, some mysteriously wouldn't upload, so they're elsewhere, but all the links work. Has anybody got any more? Specifically, anyone got part two of the CJ Boland set below?
After Scobie's extremely interesting post about Jakbeat I went off to try and get me some, without much success, so here is a wee sample of what I found mixed up with some old Chicago House, disco, synth pop, techno and whatever the fuck else. I had great fun making this actually, plenty of looping and fannying about with tracks goin on, hope yis like it.
Downloaded an EP of DJ Rahaan re-edits and it inspired me to make up a wee disco mix. Some of the tunes might not be strictly disco but what am I supposed to be some sort of disco purist? Some tunes may not be the greatest quality as I assume they come from old vinyl . . .

Edit - Got it! here it is if anyone else wants it.Cheers Steely!
After Calso was asking for heavy manky dubstep on facebook it got me looking for that kind of thing. Here is a wee mix of what I've come across that I think is good. Nothing special, just a bunch of tunes mixed together. Can anyone who knows about these things recommend any more shit that sounds like this? I think I've exhausted all my avenues of inquiry and am still wanting more. . .

so... here's a recent mixture what i put together. some tunes i like at the moment (mostly) in said uk bass category.
scobes the second tune is james blake who i was talking to you about, remix of destiny's child. quite like his stuff. checked out todd edwards and i see where you're coming from. rather shockingly cheesy but you know i roll like that sometimes. a lot of this so-called new new shit isn't half as new as it's cracked up to be. uk funky? pish house with no melody. tropical? er ok.. either way i like lots of it. tubejerky garage and techno with hunners of sub-bass? yes please. i've got shiteloads of good new tunes so i'll get more up...
i think there are better options for uploading shit now but this is on rapidshare.
sing by fourtet kind of tacked on the end cause it's pure lovely
Right, following a conversation with Jim the other day, where he expressed the view that he was bored of techno, and was generally all about the UK Bass, here's a series of mixes to demonstrate why I'm more excited about techno now than at moreorless any time in the last decade. Gritty, banging, dark, shuffly, rising, glorious motherfucking techno. Yaaass:
Ancient Methods: http://fairtilizer.com/tracks/35906/download Ze Germans, zey like ze techno very much yes. How are zey making zis compressed funk sound, we are not knowing. But it is sounding like they have spent a lot of time in Birmingham...
With all my mates spread out across the world, my scope for boring everycunt with my musical opinions is severely limited. Also, my scope for being alerted to good music by knowledgeable friends is pretty much limited to facebook which is rubbish because you loose the links and can't be arsed finding them and the general layout is pish and I don't trust the opinions of everycunt on there etc etc
So, here the idea is to make mixes, make mixtapes or whatever and upload them then talk shite about them. Also you-tube clips, articles, whatever links you find, basically anything related to any type of tunes for the general purpose of staying up to date and immersed in the undisputed greatest art form of all time, music.
I'll get the ball rolling with a wee half hour wonky techno mix I made for my own amusement a while ago.
