Album Reminder
Takes your last.fm, itunes or whatever library and updates you when a new release appears on amazon. Surprisingly good as amazon has that mp3 store so its not just HMV specials that come in. It gives you an RSS feed that pops up when a release is made. Works pretty well so far.

Chris Cunningham's 'audio visual remix' of Gil Scott Heron
"As Cunningham explained, he has been recording train sounds from outside his U.K. apartment for ten years, and for this piece he replaced 90% of the Scott-Heron’s musical track with these train sounds and environmental recordings, pitch-shifting and harmonizing them to create a “musique concrete” version of the original composition"
Here is an article to tell you all about it. It's good to hear that Chris is using his considerable talents to bring us music as well as video nowadays, look forward to hearing more . . .
Here's a one screen version of what he premiered (the original had three), it's awesome. At the time of writing, it's taking ages to play so you might want to give it a while to load if you can't be arsed with the stuttering . . .

London Nightclub flyers 1967
These clubs all look brilliant to me. I wonder what amazing clubs Glasgow had back in the day. My Dad has let me see some photos from inside 'saints and sinners' (now king tuts) and 'the cardinal folly' (which was then the temple, shack, steaming pile of ash . . .fuck knows what it is now), and my grandparents went for dances in the Barras when it was host to the best big bands in the world and didn't have a bar . . .I'm sure there would have been amazing jazz places before that . . .

Oddly compelling tune.
Jesu: Pale Sketches Demixed
Electronica re-workings of Jesu tracks by the napalm death guitarist Justin K. Broadrick. Yet more brilliant stuff from good old ghostly international.

Miguel Atwood-Ferguson Ensemble "Drips/Take Notice" feat Flying Lotus from Miguel Atwood-Ferguson on Vimeo.
Some awesome live jazz here with Flying Lotus on the laptop. I dig the dude on the violin and the bass player, they're having a ball . . .
